The tram line is riding over the Pont Adolphe above the river the Alzette. In the valley of this river there runs the railway line starting from the central station in Luxemburg and going to the north of the country
To aquire a good accessibility along this railway line a new station has been opened. In order to overcome the height difference a double funicular (cable railway) was created.
