Let's give some general information about the country of Luxemburg, and about the railways in Luxemburg.
Luxemburg is situated in Europe, and has borders with Germany in the east, France in the south and Belgium in the west and north. It has only 0,4 million inhabitants on an area of ca. 2.500 square km. The official language is (as the Luxemburg people say themselves) Luxemburgian, but everybody in the country speaks French and German.
The largest city is the city of Luxemburg. Some more large cities exist in the south of the country. In the region around the city of Luxemburg and that at the south of that city, almost three quarter of the inhabitants of the country are living, although the area only makes one tenth of the area of the country. Other large cities are Esch-sur-Alzette, Dudelange, Dommeldange in the south, and Ettelbrück in the north of the country.
The CFL is the state owned company running the railways in Luxemburg.
