In 1952 the CFL ordered for 5 light shunting locs. They are lookalike the German DB reihe V36. In Germany almost 300 locs were delivered from 1938 until 1944, and 32 more after the war.
It is a 3 axle loc, in Luxemburg with 450 hp slightly more powerfull then the German locs which have 360 hp.
The locs were delivered in 1953. They were used for light shunting and work trains. The locs are the same as of the CFL series 600, with the same motor. But as the locs of series 450 had no turbo loader (as the series 600 had), the power was delimited to 450 hp.
Loc 452 was sold in 1970 to the ARBED (nr.210). Loc 451 was abandoned in 1973 because of heavy motor damage. The rest of the locs remained in service until 1982.
