Because lorry 1005 was getting too old, the CFL ordered in 1964 this loc. It was mostly used in the repair shop in Petange.
In the year 1988 it was renumbered in 1011 (in the same series as the other tractors). The reason for the renumbering was the fact that from then a series of electrical multiple units was ordere witth the numbers from 2001 on.
