In 2018 the CFL ordered at the factory of Alstom a series of electrical multiple units. The order consists of 22 three-part EMUs, and 12 six-part EMUs. The date of delivery has several times been overruled, because of the Covid-pandemic and because of changing specifications made by CFL. The first trains were delivered in the year 2022. A long period of testing followed, in 2025 the trains went into service.
The three-part trains consist of two double stock carriages and one single stock carriage. Two boogies do have motors.
