In 1999 the CFL was looking for new, light rolling stock. As there was only a shortage of rolling stock for a short time, the CFL rented during the summer periode of 1999 (from 30-5-1999 until 10-12-1999) a Regio-Sprinter from the German Durener Kreisbahn.
It was placed into exploitation on the line Bettembourg - Dudelange Usines.
The test was not succesfull; the CFL didnot order Regio-Sprinters from Siemens.
