When in 1948 the first Diesel trains (De Dietrich) were ordered, also coaches belonging to these were ordered. They were the same as the SNCF coaches of the series DC 6000. Order was placed at Decauville for six coaches. Four other existing coaches were rebuilt to serve as coach so the total would be 10. The 6 new coaches were delivered in 1948.
After some years the 4 rebuilt coaches proved to be not satisfactory, and so 4 new coaches were ordered, now the same as the SNCF series XR 7300, slightly different from the other 4 coaches. The 4 old coaches became a reserve.
In 1955 the motor coach RZ 105 was destroyed in an accident. For this railbus a new was ordered, then of the type of VT95. The new railbus was numbered R 161.
When in 1975 the motor coaches were taken out of service, the coaches of RZ 1001-1010 were also out of service.

RZ 1002 and 1007 in 1978 to GAR, but because of bad state demolished later on.
The GAR acquired another similar carriage from SNCF, XR 8291 and renumbered it into RZ 1011. This carriage will ride with museum railcar Z 105.
