In one place (Wasserbillig) there exists a link to the German railway system. Direct trains run from Koblenz and Trier (and in the past even from furt her on in Germany) to the city of Luxemburg. As you can imagine, many of the rolling stock of Germany will ride to the city of Luxemburg. In the past direct trains ran further on to Esch-sur-Alzette and Belval.
