In Rumelange a blast furnace was created in 1880. It was located just north of the halt of Rumelange.
In 1911 the factory was acquired by the Deutsch-Luxemburgische Bergwerks- und Hütten-AG which was also involved in the location at Differdange.
As the First World War ended with a loss for Germany and the firm was German oriented, the decision was made to make a new firm, the "Hauts-Fourneaux et Aciéries de Differdange, St.Inbert, Rumelange (HADIR)". The location in Rumelange, where was much damage because of the First World War, was closed in 1927.
The factory (which was located north of the passengers halt of Rumelange) was served by a rail connection from the south. Just south of the passengers halt, the marshalling yard could be found (on the track of the now closed line from Rumelange to Ottange).
